Lorain-Yolanda Eleanore (nee Piscione) Argenti, 99, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Mill Manor Care Center in Vermilion, OH.
She was born on March 30, 1925 in Lorain, to her loving parents, Enrico and Raffaella (nee Lombardi) Piscione.
Yolanda attended Clearview schools and graduated from Clearview High School in 1943. She married the love of her life, Peter Argenti Sr. on April 26, 1947. During WWII she worked at American Industries in Elyria and Thew Shovel in Lorain. She worked at Lorain Products in the Engineering Department. Yolanda was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, OH was a member of the senior group. She was a lifetime member of the I.A.V. Auxiliary and was very active in the I.A.V. working the spaghetti dinners and women's auxiliary of which she served as president and various other offices at the local, state, and national levels. Yolanda enjoyed volunteering at the Star Program and at St. Joseph Hospital. She also volunteered at Masson School tutoring children in reading and math under the direction of their teachers.
Yolanda was known for her Italian cooking with Sunday family get-togethers. She especially enjoyed baking the family's favorite Italian cookies and always trying "new" recipes. She also played BINGO, went to casinos, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Charles) Argenti Hobor of Amherst Township, Linda (Ron) Ditto of Vermilion, Peter (Karen) Argenti Sr. of Fullerton, CA and Tina Argenti of Lorain; daughter-in-law, Pat Argenti of Lorain; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years of marriage, Peter Argenti Sr.; son, August "Sonny" Argenti; parents, Enrico and Raffaela Piscione; siblings, Armondo, Augustine, Victor, Albert, Alex, Vito, Catherine, Helen Yerico, and Jenny Taite; and nephews, Ross and Henry Piscione and Birdie Allison.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mill Manor Care Facility in Vermilion and New Life Hospice. The family is forever grateful for the attention and wonderful care they provided for Yolanda.
The family will receive friends at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, OH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Yolanda's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org or to St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Avenue in Lorain, OH 44053. I met Yolanda and Pete right after I met my future wife in 1972. What a beautiful and happy couple they were together. She and my mother in law were best friends. All they did was laugh, and I loved that. I´m sure they are all together again, and that makes me feel good. God Bless you Yolanda, and tell my in-laws that I miss them.
