Yolanda Dalessandro

Yolanda Dalessandro, a beloved resident of Metuchen for 56 years, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born in Newark, NJ, Yolanda grew up in Union and was a graduate of Union High School. In her earlier years, she worked at Hartford Insurance Company before dedicating herself to raising her family. Later, she worked at Alexander's in Menlo Park.
A faithful member of Evangel Church in Elizabeth and Scotch Plains for many years, Yolanda's life was defined by her unwavering faith and kindness. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph, who passed away in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Davidson (and her husband, Robert); her son, David Dalessandro (and his wife, Jackie); her cherished grandchildren, Mandy Morante (and her husband, Chris), Victoria Dalessandro (and her fiance, David Ayala), and Olivia Dalessandro; and her great-grandchildren, Lily Morante and Josiah Morante.
Yolanda's warmth was felt by all who knew her. She had a deep love for cooking and baking, often preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed long, sunny days at the beach and found joy in reading, crocheting, word puzzles, playing games with her family, and spending time with her loved ones. Above all, Yolanda was a devoted "prayer warrior," living her life with humility and peace, embodying the teachings of Christ.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, Fanwood, NJ on Tuesday, January 14th, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A second visitation will take place at Evangel Church, Terrill Road, Scotch Plains, NJ, on Wednesday, January 15th, from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, with services to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union following the service.
Yolanda's family is grateful for the love and prayers of those who have shared in her life.
