Zachary William Butcher
April 17, 1996 – November 30, 2024
Zachary William Butcher, age 28 of Britton, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the University of Michigan ICU on November 30, 2024. He was born on April 17, 1996 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Charles and Brenda (Bibler) Butcher. He and his family moved back to their home state of Michigan in 1997. Zac graduated from Britton-Deerfield High School in 2014, where he played football.
He attended Washtenaw Community College and was employed as a landscaper, which he loved. Zac enjoyed gaming, golfing, and spending time with friends, especially his two best friends Jordan Robinson and Daniel Winters. Zac loved a good football game, also cheering on his favorite teams LSU and UofM.
To cherish his memory, Zac leaves behind his mother; aunts Karen Scholl of Monroe and Pamela Boudrie of Florida; cousins, Jennifer (Boudrie) Soterakis of Florida, Melinda (Boudrie) Meurer of Texas, Marc Boudrie of Florida, John Scholl of Davisburg, and James Scholl of Monroe. He also leaves behind several second and third cousins, and his pets, a beloved dog, Ozzie, and cat, Oreo.
Zac is preceded in death by his half-brother, Joshua Messerly; his father, Charles Butcher; his maternal grandparents, Jeanette Bibler and Dean Bibler; paternal grandparents, Charles and Jean Butcher; and his aunt Janice (Butcher) Williams of Tennessee.
A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 3:30pm to 8pm at Rupp Funeral Home Inc., located at 2345 South Custer Road, Monroe, MI, 48161. A celebration of Zac's life will be held in the evening at 6pm with Sr. Kathy Onderbeke, IHM officiating. In accordance with Zac's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations in Zac's memory are suggested to the family.
