Zachary David Stoner “Eli” 32 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025. Born August 06, 1992, in Indianapolis to Mark Allen Stoner and Marcia Elaine (Sims) Stoner.
Zach worked in the Logistics Department at Carrier Corporation and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. Zach is survived by his parents, Marcia (Sims) Stoner and Mark Allen Stoner, (Stepmom, Connie Stoner) and his son, Samson Roy Stoner.
In recent years Zach gave himself the Nickname of “Eli” and was known as Eli to most of his friends. “Eli” enjoyed the great outdoors and spent many weekends hiking and camping, visiting many state parks. He recently rescued a Siberian Husky and was enjoying having her company on walks and in the woods. “Eli” was a foodie and loved cooking for people. His son, Samson, was his whole world. Eli was very excited about Sam starting Kindergarten! “Eli” loved taking Sammy to museums and parks and enjoyed taking him hiking and camping. The church was very important to Eli. He loved his church family. He enjoyed serving, volunteering in the children’s ministry and taking Sammy to church.
Zach attended Roachdale Elementary School where he received many academic awards and honors, excelling in Math. He participated in Destination Imagination and was selected to attended Purdue University to participate in the gifted program (GERI). He attended North Putnam Middle School, Avon Middle School, Our Shepherd Lutheran School and graduated from Avon High School in 2011. Zach was confirmed at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and attended church and Sunday School there. Eli attended Peace Lutheran Church in Greencastle, Indianan and was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also active in the youth group and volunteered in the nursery. Zach took the responsibility of being a Christian parent seriously making sure to teach his son about Jesus.
Zach will certainly be missed by all who knew him, especially his son, Samson.

The Stoner family is eternally grateful for the Latinovich family who treated Zach ”Eli” and Sam as their own showing them much love and giving of their friendship. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 3932 Mi Casa Ave. Indianapolis, In 46237 Or at the church directly. Visitation will be held on Friday May 23, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 11 am to 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.
