Zelda Humphrey

Zelda Humphrey 96, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at her home in Calhoun. Zelda Hayes was born July 24, 1929 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Zada Millard Hayes and was married to William Tilden Humphrey on June 15, 1949.
Zelda retired as a payroll clerk from the Crounse Corporation and was an active member of Calhoun Baptist Church. At Calhoun Baptist Church, Zelda taught Bible school was a member of WMU, sang in the church choir and taught the Bethany Sunday school class for several years. She also enjoyed working both crossword and jigsaw puzzles and watching John Wayne western movies.
In addition to her parents, Zelda was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Tilden Humphrey, who died November 26, 2011.
Zelda is survived by a son, Roger Humphrey (Kathy) of Rumsey; two daughters, Ange Relyea (George) of Henderson and Kathy Ellsworth (David) of Rumsey; six grandchildren, Travis Humphrey, Jonathan Humphrey (Karla), Clayton Brown (Carolyn), Laura Kathryn Hunt (Nathan), Andrea Melton (Mickey), and Sam Ellsworth (Jodie); 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hugh Hayes (Shirley) of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Calhoun Baptist Church. Private family burial will be in the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Central City. Friends may visit with Zelda's family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Calhoun Baptist Church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Zelda's family.
