Wayne Matthew Perrigo, age 53, of Edgewater, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Mr. Perrigo, a computer programmer, moved to Titusville in 1979, then settled in Edgewater in 1986. He won the "Best of 1988" award from McDonnell Douglas Company for being instrumental in the creation of the Tomahawk Missile Program. A United States Navy veteran who served in Lebanon, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4250, New Smyrna Beach and AMVETS Post 2, Edgewater, and assisted other veterans in obtaining their benefits. Mr. Perrigo was proud of his Canadian Indian heritage: a descendant of the Eastern Woodland Metis Nation, Nova Scotia. Besides computer work, he loved music, the Miami Dolphins, and cooking. Survivors include one son, Ryan Perrigo, Savannah, Georgia; mother, Diane Martin, Edgewater; father, Leland (Ann) Perrigo, Boothbay Harbor, Maine; three sisters, Deborah (Jackie) Dix, Keysville, Virginia, Cynthia (Burnon) Riley, Sarasota, Florida, and Brenda Perrigo, Newcastle, Maine; ten nieces and nephews; and two step-brothers, Charles (Michele) Martin, Edge-water, and Frank Martin, Ft. Lauderdale. Memorial service will 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 24, at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel with VFW Post 4250 chaplain officiating. Wayne you were and still are an asset to your country for you participation to the Tomahawk Program you have help save lives and you will never be forgotten, as we lost our son the day you passed, 3 years ago.
