Stephen Wallack

Wallack - Stephen, was a resident of Northport, NY. He was born on September 16, 1944, in New York City. He was the son of Charles "Chick" Wallack and Marguerite Quinzani. He attended Bethpage high school, playing football for Long Island legendary coach Howard Vogts. He started his professional career with Seaboard World Airlines. Eventually, leading him to work at his family's namesake trucking company Wallack Freight Lines, co-founded by his father. Wallack Freight Lines played a key role in developing much of the Tri-state NY region from the 1950s until the 1980s. In his younger years, Stephen would help deliver cargo along route 27 as far as the town of Montauk. At one point, the company became the largest privately owned Teamster Union on Long Island. He married Barbara J Pope, in 1978, in the city of Dallas, TX. In 1980, they settled down in Northport, NY to raise two children and many dogs. Stephen's career path led him to form partnerships with leading international logistic companies. Expanding his career and maintaining the Wallack Transportation Services in one form or another, Stephen forged a professional career with relationships that touched nearly every continent on earth. He was a man who walked amongst the shadows within the freight and logistic service community. A legend amongst his peers, he dedicated a lifelong service to the transportation cargo industry. His passion, outside of work, was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren with great pride. In his later years, some would remember him with a cigar in hand while he patrolled his local beach. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, with his wife and daughter by his side. Funeral arrangments are private. In loving memory, he is survived by his dedicated wife, Barbara J. Wallack; children, Scott J. Wallack, Catherine M.
