I was deeply saddened today to learn of the death of one of my dearest friends, Dr. Emile LaBranche, III, M.D.
My wife, Dr. Jayne H. Brown M.D., and I, send our fervent prayers and sincere condolences to the entire LaBranche family, especially, Anne and Karen.
Our infrequent visits to New Orleans will now be less meaningful since Emile will not be present.
R.I.P. My brother, and may your spirit join those of our ancestors.

Dr. LaBranche was my doctor, my confidant, and my therapist. I was his patient for over twenty years and I owe so much to his meticulous care of me and my family. When he retired I made it a point to ask after him and was heartbroken to find out yesterday he had taken his place with the Lord. I will miss you and your family has my sincerest condolences. My heartfelt condolences go out to the LaBranche family. He was my doctor for a long time at Crescent City, but more importantly he was my friend and brother. I was saddened to learn of his passing recently as he had just retired, and I'm sure was looking forward to kicking back and enjoying life with his family. He earned it as he was a very hard working and great doctor. I will miss him dearly, may God bless him and the LaBranche family, may he rest in peace.

Our love and God's peace and comfort to Anne, Erin, Evan, Steven, Karen and the entire LaBranche family. We cherish the love extended to us 40 years ago as newcomers to NOLA. We were welcomed as and became family. Our great joy was to see Emile fulfill his calling to be a physician, to see his compassion expressed in his medical practice, to see his love for people demonstrated in how he cared for his patients. His love for his family was truly wonderful. We greatly admired him. So many wonderful characteristics. So cool. We love him always.

Dr. Labranche was the most patient and understanding doctor, I have ever had. He would always make me feel at ease and was able to explain everything in layman's terms. He had a knack for remembering small details about your personal life (not an easy thing when you consider his patient load) and would amaze me with his sharp wit. Very sad to see he retire but happy that he is now resting in peace. To Anne and daughters you, along with Emile are in my prayers.

No words can adequately express how it feels to lose my mentor, my doctor, my advisor, and most of all my dear friend. I'm just so grateful to have known him (since I worked at K&B on Read!) and to have been a part of his day to day life for so many years. He taught me so much and he made work fun with his always good-natured teasing, and I am forever thankful for every single minute of it. Anne, Erin, Evan, Karen, Steven, and all the grandkids, you all have my deepest sympathy. I'm with you. He was a great man, a tough act to follow, one in a million, and I can attest to the fact that there are many broken-hearted people in N.O East and Gentilly since he left us.
