Byron was my fraternity brother at Penn. We did not share many memorable occassions and for that matter we only met at one school reunion following our graduation. Nevertheless, Byron left an indelible impression on me. I'll always remember him for his passion and sincerity. He was always one of the "nice guys".He left this world too soon.

Please accept my condolances on learning about the very sad and tragic death of such a wonderful, energetic and caring individual. I knew him only briefly as a younger fraternity brother and thought he would become someone great. He did. I am so sorry that his life was cut so short. My thoughts are with his family.

Dear Sandy and Family: It still is not real to us. Sadness engulfs us over the loss of Byron. He was a prince of a man, a joy to do business with, and difficult, if not impossible, to not become a friend with, so these kinds of acknowledgements are always tough to write. We search for the right words of comfort, but nothing can cover the gut and soul hurt you feel from the loss of Byron and his warmth, love, and presence in your life, as well as in ours.
We know how much Byron was loved and adored by you and his family. That each time your heart beat, half of that beat was for him. We know that you walked lighter, sang louder, and looked at life through clear glasses with him here. Now you face those dark and painful days, months, and years of all sorts of feelings. Nothing seems to ease the pain, no matter what any of us say. We want you to know we care.
We never heard anything from his lips but wonderful things about his family. He not only made all life better for you, but for those of us who were fortunate enough to share his friendship and respect. Our fondest memories will always be the way he talked so lovingly and admiringly about you and your capabilities.
Your life will somehow go on and each day his memories will become sweeter. Until we can hug you, please know we are saddened by the loss of a beautiful person, a cherished friend, and an American who was one of God’s greatest creations.
We will have a good cry over his loss and then salute him with a fine glass of wine and wish him God’s speed as he touches the hand of God. Our love!
