It's hard to imagine that 2 years have passed since Marc was lost to his friends and family members. As the month of June approached, I was mindful of the significance of the sad milestone because it
still seems inexplicable that someone with Marc's vitality, and the motivation to accomplish many remarkable goals at every stage of his life, could be thwarted in his missions by an abbreviated life. Marc is in my thoughts frequently because of the exceptional humanity which his life endeavors represented. I continue to think about the void which has been left among Marc's adoring friends, as well as the impact his absence has exerted on his loving wife and two sons. Marc's spirited personality and genuine kindness are memorable and remain as wonderful reminders of his unique qualities. He is not someone who can be ever forgotten by those who knew him and there will be many who reminisce about Marc for years to come.

I am shocked and saddened by this terrible news. Although we have not seen each other in recent years,my thoughts go fondly to our many years on vanderventer, where I could not have asked for a better friend! I have always held Marc , Peggy and the boys in my heart though time kept us apart. My deepest sympathy and love to Peggy, Ryan and Adam . I did not hear about this until today and I am so sorry I missed the service. Love Debbie (Rouhana, Fisher, Lane)

As a neighbor to Marc Silbert and his family in Great Neck, New York for over 15 years, I admired the sense of commitment which his parents demonstrated for local issues. Marc's mother, Seena, was a tireless advocate for social justice and was especially moved by the adversities impacting vulnerable children. She was known to fight Manhattan traffic every December to bring overflowing bundles of holiday presents to disadvantaged children. Marc upheld this family tradition of community activism in his long involvement with the Sands Point Civic Association and as a trustee on the Village Board during the 30+ years he and his wife, Peggy, resided together in Sands Point. Marc's rigorous professional life included the stressful management of a top employment agency in a highly competitive market. Yet, he always found time for family, friends and his Long Island community, where he dedicated so many creative and strategic ideas for its betterment.
When Marc and I last exchanged correspondence, he had been recently diagnosed with a cruel disease. However, he remained upbeat and determined to combat this latest challenge in his remarkably optimistic style. Even at a critical health juncture, Marc's focus was on others, and he particularly underscored his concern for Peggy as they faced the uncertainty of his health battle together. Marc's vitality, inimitable sense of humor, and unwavering generosity in helping his fellow residents to thrive in their community, will forever remain in our hearts as his perpetual gifts to us.
