ROBERT LANDSMAN Obituary

LANDSMAN--Robert Henry, 91, passed away April 3, 2023. He is survived by his wife Sandra Lang Landsman and son and daughter-in-law Andrews Aaron Landsman (Cheryl Maxfield) as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A successful architect who worked for private and public entities over the years including I.M. Pei & Partners, HOK New York, Kohn Pedersen Fox, Swanke Hayden Connell, NYC Department of General Services and Queens College. His favorite jobs were Project Director for the restoration and renovation of the Statue of Liberty (a frequent story was how he climbed up on the scaffolding and kissed her but she "stood there like a statue"), the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University and his four-bed- room home in upstate New York. Robert attended Brooklyn Technical High School ('48) before studying engineering at Georgia Tech ('52) followed by graduate studies in architecture at the University of Oregon. He had the good fortune to serve in the military as a 1st Lieutenant in Germany during the Korean War (1954-1956.) His love of architecture was surpassed only by love for his family and friends, golf, tennis and skiing, (preferably in Taos, NM), good food and margaritas (with jokes and stories) and dancing in the moonlight.
