ROBERT LIMA

LIMA--Robert, PhD, OIC. Robert Lima, award-winning poet, biographer, editor, bibliographer, translator, playwright, professor, and literary critic, Knight Commander in both the Order of Queen Isabel and the Imperial Hispanic Order of Charles V, Academician of the Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Espanola, and Corresponding Member of Spain's Real Academia Espanola died Tuesday February 8, 2022. Born November 7, 1935 in Havana, Cuba, the retired Professor Emeritus of Penn State University was a graduate of Villanova and New York University who guest- lectured around the world, was a Senior Fulbright-Hays Fellow in Peru and poet-in- residence at Universidad de San Marcos. His poetry was deeply connected to his passion for archaeology and ancient civilizations which was celebrated by Penn State in "The Poetic World of Robert Lima". He is survived by his wife Sally and their children Mark, Keith, Michele, and Debra, his six grandchildren, and his brother John.
