Alberta "Babe" Price (Guzmon) went to be with the Lord in the late hours of Friday, April 14, 2017 after lengthy illness. Babe was a kind woman who was dearly beloved by her family and many friends. She devoted much of her life to her family and her faith in Jesus Christ.
Babe was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Raymond Paul Guzmon and Alberta (Miller) Guzmon on January 28, 1927. She married Stanley George Price on May 17, 1952 and, after spending a few years in Philly and a few more in Detroit starting their family, they moved to a rural setting in Tekonsha, Michigan. Babe took on her new role of farm wife with grace. In winter of 1981, she and her husband moved to Houston, Texas to enjoy the sunshine and company of their eldest daughter, Dianne. From then on Houston was their home with the exception of a few years they spent in New Mexico.
Babe loved to play cards, Knit, crochet, make jewelry, and she especially loved to study God's word and sing His praises. She was a proud and beloved member of Second Baptist Church, Kingwood Texas. Known for her giggle fits and sweet smile, she was a grandmother to everyone she met, including Dianne's neighborhood kids. She also loved flowers, gardening and was a member of garden club.
Babe is survived by her sister Barbara "Mom Mom" Metz; daughters Dianne Price of Humble, Texas and Nancy Chicotel of Huron, Ohio (Ralph); grandchildren Caleb Price (Victoria), Kelsey Price, Amanda Chicotel (Eric), and Christopher Chicotel (Leah); great-grandchildren Aleece and Isaac; and George Price and Sharon Rozell. She was also an aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt many times over. She is preceded in death by her husband, S. George "Pop-Pop" Price; her parents Ray and Alberta; and her siblings Raymond, Doris, and Joan.
Memorial services will be held on May 25, 2017 at 4 pm at Kingwood Second Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association. Special thanks to the hospice staff at Good Samaritan Society Village Las Cruces who were so very loving and caring to our beloved sister, mother, and grandmother. We will be forever grateful.

A beautiful soul has joined the heavenly chorus and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. I am so thankful for the years we had together and the precious honor that was mine in providing her care.
