Barbara Chavana Obituary

Barbara Ann Chavana was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on September 10, 1933. She was the daughter of Lawrence F. and Mary Elizabeth Busch. She passed away April 14, 2016. Barbara attended the Oklahoma City public schools and graduated from Classen High School in 1951. She worked for Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma before continuing in Houston, Texas for over 20 years.

On December 26, 1965 she married Israel Chavana in Edinburg, Texas. They had three children, Mary Ann Vickrey, Lorenzo Roman (Larry) Chavana and Oscar David Chavana.

Barbara was an avid gardener and also enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stitching and being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed being associated with the AT&T Pioneers group and being involved in the monthly gatherings.

She is survived by her husband Israel Chavana, her brother Lawrence F. Busch Jr., her sister Judith and Vernon Young, daughter Mary Ann Vickrey and husband Bryan along with two children Peyton and Mackenzie Vickrey; son Lorenzo Roman Chavana and wife Vivian along with two children Ashley and Aaron Chavana; Oscar David Chavana and wife Terri along with three children Cassie and Jarrad Jensen and two children Jaxon and Jayelynn, Amber and Brooke Chavana. Along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Lawrence F. Busch Sr. and her mother Mary Elizabeth Busch.

Barbara will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by loved ones.
