Mr. Bernard Hooker Jr. of Cleveland passed away, Thursday June 11, 2015 at his home.
He was born September 1, 1946 in Houston, Texas to parents Bernard and Eva Hooker Sr. He was retired from the United States Army and had been a resident of Cleveland for 9 years. Leroy had formerly lived in Augusta, Georgia. Paw Paw as he was lovingly referred to by his grandchildren, loved the outdoors and fishing, hunting. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Kay Hooker; parents Bernard and Eva Hooker Sr.; sisters, Betty Bokemeyer and husband Bobby, Patricia Attaway - Jackson and Mildred Knisal.
Survivors Include son, Bernard Leroy Hooker III and wife Anna; daughters, Shannon Downes and husband Richard, Deborah Clements; grandchildren, Matthew Hooker, Brittany Hooker, Jonathon Bedgood, Alana Bedgood, Chandler Shoemaker, Tyler Shoemaker, Cody Clements; brother Bobby Goethe and wife Earline.
Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday June 15, 2015 in the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conroe Memorial Park.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM in the McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conroe Memorial Park.
Graveside services to follow at Security Cemetery in Cleveland, TX.

My uncle, My friend, bigger steps may have been made by some, but your steps surely will never be filled. Thanks for your sacrifice defending God & country. May God reach out and touch my cousins & those left behind, comfort them in their time of need. You will be greatly missed.
