Daniel Shaw Obituary
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents: Pettus R. Shaw and Ida Mae Cline-Shaw, and infant son, Glen Ray Shaw. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Karen Louise Shaw; daughters: Judith Marie Shaw Howard and her husband, Steven; Katherine Marie Shaw Sharp and her husband, Paul; Grandchildren: Christopher Howard, Jennifer Howard, and Kimberly Sharp; Brother: Michael Shaw and wife, Betty, and many extended family members.
Daniel's occupation was mainly oil field related, ending his career as President and CEO of McFarland Pump Co. in Houston TX.
Daniel was a devout Lutheran and charter member of Grace Lutheran Church in Conroe, TX. He was a 50 Year Master Mason in good standing at Albert J. Delange Lodge in Houston, TX. He was an avid golfer at River Plantation Country Club for over 44 years. Many golfers called him "Uncle Dan" or "Captain Dan" because he was captain of the Senior Golf Interclub at River Plantation. He played golf yearly in Mesquite Nevada with The Brotherhood of the Pump, a group of guys who worked in the pump industry for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter with a garage wall lined with trophy antlers and a few actually made it into the house he and Karen lived in since 1977.
Daniel's Memorial service is pending with Grace Lutheran Church in Conroe, TX. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Daniel's name.

Dan was my boss in the 80s and a good friend. I last saw him about 8 years ago when I came back to Houston for a Visit.

Its hard to believe we are playing golf together one day and then he is gone. What a great guy to know and call friend. I met Dan about 15 years ago when I joined the RPCC 9:30 group that played at 11:00 on the weekends. He told a lot of good Oilfield stories that I could relate too. He and Mrs. Karen were part of the glue that held the River Plantation Country Club to together. You will be missed my friend, but never forgotten. My condolences!
