Denton Arthur Nicholson, age 75, of Conroe Texas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016.
Denton was born in Phoenix Arizona to Harry and Dorothy Nicholson on December 5, 1940. He graduated from Coldwater Kansas Senior High School in 1958. At the age of 18 he met the love of his life Sondra Flynn and didn't leave her side for the next 58 years. He had two sons and loved his family very much.
As a boy he often helped his father in the auto body shop business and soon thereafter began his affection for automobiles. He enjoyed anything automobile related, especially if the name on the emblem was Ford. His favorite past time was working on and restoring cars and later in life watching the latest NASCAR race and talking with family about how his driver finished.
He had a diverse career in manufacturing, commercial sales and management, and business entrepreneurship. His love for work was second only to his love for family. He worked to provide for his family and to fulfill his need for accomplishment. He worked up to the very end and earned his well-deserved rest.
Denton is survived by his wife Sondra, sons Kent Nicholson and Lonnie Nicholson, sisters Marie Ward and Sue McCollum Scantlin, brother Wayne Nicholson, grandchildren Kasey Nicholson and Kyle Nicholson, and great granddaughter Melia Nicholson. Denton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the coming months with more information to follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78761. The family of Denton Arthur Nicholson wishes to thank all those who shared in Denton's life. He will be missed by all that knew him.
