Guy D. Carter, 52 passed away on July 2, 2015, after a short battle with colon cancer. He is survived by the love of his life, Kathryn (Bitty) Franklin, married on February 29, 2008. The short nine years they had together were wonderful from working hard, playing hard, to taking many trips to Hawaii, Texas, and Arizona. Any spare time they had would be spent together. Where ever you saw Guy, you would find the love of his life Kathryn (Bitty) by his side.
In 2008, Guy helped raise Kathryn's children - Robert and Jayson. Robert was already 18, and they became great friends. Jayson was only 14 when his father passed away and still needed a father figure in his life. Guy one told Jayson, "A happy man always whistles". Every time Jayson came in the house, he would be whistling. Guy loved it and would say: "Our happy boy is here".
In 2009, Guy's son Garrett moved to Alaska to get to know his dad after being raised by his mother in Utah. Getting to know his son and the great man he had become for the first time in his life gave Guy great Joy. Guy was able to spend each summer with his daughter, Kayla, who lived in Wasilla with her mother. He would have her every June to September to camp and fish every chance they could. Guy was very proud of both his kids in how they became adults and how they turned out to be.
Guy is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Bitty) Franklin; children Garrett Abbot and wife Chelsea, Kayla Carter with Emily, Robert Franklin with Jocelyn Long, Jayson Franklin with Heather Kelly, brother in law Mike and Terry Nault, Pat and Sherrie Nault, Billy Nault and patty John and Larry Nault; grandkids Jaxson Franklin, Isibell Long, John Trion and Chad Samial Franklin due in August.
