Services for Janis Dianne Hibbetts, 67, of Humble, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vick Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Ms. Hibbetts, a Christian, was born in Lake Jackson on October 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Virgenious McGill Turner and Raymond Victor Hibbetts, and departed this earth on September 10, 2015. After attending school in Humble, she later married and raised four children. Though she loved all her family dearly, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. Ms. Hibbetts was defined by her generosity and uncommon zeal for life. Fishing, cooking, music and dancing were among her many pleasures. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charmin and Kirk Bryan of Corpus Christi; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ana Tuttle of Humble; son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Pamla Tuttle of Humble; daughter, Edith Wise of Abilene; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa Hibbetts Norman of Humble; brothers and sister-in-law, Wendell and Deidra Turner of Wells, and Raymond Bert Hibbetts of North Zulch; step-father, Wendell Turner Sr. of Lufkin; aunts, Mary Lou Daniels, Sharon Copeland and Vera Lee Wilkinson, and their families; lifelong friend, Gertrude Hearne; and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers are Mark Tuttle, Leonard Tuttle, Wendell Turner, Jr., Nicholas Tuttle, Brad Richard, Shane Nobles, Chad Gaskey and Mike Shaw. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Norman and Lucas Norman. The reception will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Gipson Funeral Home, all are welcome.
