Johnson Roselle "J.R." Clegg, Jr., age 81, passed away June 15, 2016 in Kingwood, TX. He was born October 15, 1934 to Johnson Roselle Clegg and Lura Marie Philips Clegg in Port Lavaca, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1957 with a Mechanical Engineering degree and was in the Corps of Cadets. J.R. proudly served in the US Air Force reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He earned an MBA at the University of Texas in 1963. He was the owner and President of OGC, Inc. a recruiting service for the oil and gas industry.
J.R. is survived by his wife, Patsy M. Clegg; children, Jay Clegg, Frank Clegg, Elizabeth Nisson, Cynthia Clegg, Jennifer Clegg, Lynda Guarnieri & husband Rob; step-children, Pamela Hutton, David Hill & wife Karie; grandchildren, Devin, Cullen, Amesley & Ashton Nisson; Morgan, JT & Julia Clegg; Drew & Dylan Guarnieri; Micah Lloyd; Bryn Hutton; great-grandchild, Alli Mae; God-daughter, Nancy Nguyen; siblings, Robert E. Clegg & wife Margaret, Samuel P. Clegg & wife Marta, Rose Marie Dunlap & husband Herbert; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5 - 8 pm Monday, June 20, 2016 at Kingwood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Peru Mission Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood.
