Joseph Hardy Rutherford Jr., age 80 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was born December 8, 1934 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Joseph Hardy Rutherford Sr. and Lona Mae Bass who preceded him in death along with his brother, Garland F. Rutherford and sisters, Lillian Nadine Hopkins and Francis Dale Everitt.
Survivors include his wife Erma Webb Rutherford; sons, James Darrel Rutherford and wife Sheri Lyn, and Garland Dean Rutherford and wife Cindy Anne; stepchildren, Peggy Burk, Barbara Whitton and husband Robert, and Ricky Gilmore; brothers, Jack Rutherford and wife Willie, Dennis Ray Rutherford and wife Pat and D.W. Rutherford and Donna; sisters, Ruth Beshears, Alma Faulkner Carlson and husband Robert, and Faye Carter; brother-in-law, Gordon Everitt; sister-in-law, Ann Rutherford; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also left to mourn his passing is the mother of his two sons, Kathryn McGuire Rutherford; special friends, Billie Frerich, Jody Hughes, Carl Rayburn and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home. Rev. George Hayden and Rev. Kenneth Conatser will preside over funeral services held 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Uncle Joe was a special guy. He will be very missed. Just remember if he picked on you he liked you.. Sometimes I wondered why he liked me so much!! Lol! Erma Dale, Leslie, Stewart and I will miss him so very much. Joe was just always around. We will be playing some 42 tonight and I know he will be with us too. Hugs.. Leslie, Trudy & Stewart...

So very sorry to hear about Joe. I met Joe in the late 50s thru his sister Dale. He was fun to be around, hell with dominos/ Just a fun guy . Will miss him. Prayers for all the family - especially Staci Collignon.
