June Marie (Fortner) Driver, 89, passed away, Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Kingwood, Texas. June was a former longtime Seminole resident. She was born April 17, 1926 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Margaret M. (Axley) and Walter Slaten Fortner.
June was a member of the Kingwood Church Of Christ in Kingwood, Texas. She worked many years as a Medical Secretary at West Texas Pathology Laboratory and retired in 1986. She was also a volunteer at a hospital in Humble, Texas. While living in Seminole she worked for Hopeman Equipment Company.
She married John Henry Driver on August 20, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1997.
Mrs. Driver is survived by her two daughters Deborah Teter and her husband, David Ray Teter of Kingwood, Texas and Marilyn Masdon and her husband Earl Conn Masdon III, of Kingwood, Texas; sister-in-law, Ella Ruth Harber Fortner of Duncan, Oklahoma, two granddaughters, Kristen Teter of Austin, Texas and Angie Brown and her husband Jason of Roanoke, Texas, two grandsons, Scott Masdon of Atlanta, Georgia and Cory Teter of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren Kylie Brown, Braden Brown and Baby Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Henry Driver, a brother Walter Douglas Fortner, and her sister Bonnie Lee Grisso Parks.
Graveside services were held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma with Wayne A. Grisso, Jr, of Shawnee, Oklahoma officiating.
Honorary bearers were, Cory Teter, Scott Masdon, Doug Fortner, Dr. Russell Postier, Earl Masdon ,David Teter, Jason Brown, Heath Grisso and Trace Grisso.
Burial was followed at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
