Roberta Keiser Obituary

A true woman of beauty, inside and out, passed on August 20, 2018. Born in Montgomery, West Virginia, Robbie was an incredible daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and valued friend to many. A fall earlier this year produced challenges she was unable to conquer. Thankfully, her family was all together last November to celebrate her 75th Birthday.

Following her 2010 retirement from teaching she moved from South Florida to Montgomery, Texas, near her daughter Kristen. She enjoyed creating her new home in April Sound where she served as secretary of the Women's Association at April Sound Country Club. Thru the comradery and volunteer services of the Conroe Noon Lions Club she made wonderful new friends. She thoroughly enjoyed her book club and bunko ladies. Texas also sparked her enjoyment and loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. Her family and friends in South Florida have enjoyed Robbie's frequent visits and vacationing with her on Disney Cruises, holidays in Puerto Rico, Savannah, Idaho, Texas and more. She loved to travel, and she loved her family.

Robbie maintained friendships from North Miami Senior High Class of '61 where she enjoyed success in her studies and student activities. As Captain of the NMSH Honor Garde, President of Honoria, and an exchange student to Denmark, she shined and made her family and friends proud.

Always loyal to Florida State University where she started her college career, she completed her degrees a few years later along with her growing family. The 30 years she was an educator in Miami-Dade County Public Schools were industrious and creative. She opened the first corporate pre-school program and set the bar high in a variety of early childhood and reading programs. The energy and enthusiasm she delivered inspired many students and teachers.

The Keiser family lived in the Ives Estates for decades. Her ex-husband Bob Keiser (deceased 2013) was a principal of a local elementary school. Many happy moments were spent enjoying their friends, sports and activities of a busy family neighborhood.

She leaves a loving family of her son Rick Keiser of Fort Lauderdale, FL, his wife Donna and their two children Erik and Erin; daughter Kristen Mask and her husband Cary Mask of Conroe, TX ; son Randy Keiser of Kenner, LA and his three daughters, Kaylynn, Kendall and Kolbie and great granddaughter Kinsley; and Robbie's sisters Mary Hartley and Trudy Williamson both of Miami, FL.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 22, 2018 at April Sound Country Club, 1000 April Sound Blvd., Montgomery TX 1-3 PM.

Robbie was a wonderful and faithful volunteer at Jazzy Junque, the volunteer run store that benefits New Danville, a community for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. She will be missed. An Oak tree will be planted at New Danville in her memory as a reminder of how she shared her life and skills to help others and the store grow, as will New Danville because of her.

Our deepest sympathies to the whole Keiser family. Robbie was a beautiful person both inside and out. Her sparkling personality was very catching. She will be missed by all who knew her.

My deepest sympathies. May the God of all comfort strengthen the entire family during this time of sorrow. Always remember that God keeps in his memory those whom we lose because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15)

To the Keiser Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I have many vivid images of Robbie as she has been my friend for over 30 years. I met Robbie as a teacher and then Reading Coach. I later moved on to become a Reading Coach at another school. We worked closely together on school projects, attended monthly meetings which always included hour lunches with updates about our personal lives, and conferences in Orlando (her favorite playground). Time spent with Robbie reminds me of a shopping trip to Macy's. Warren and I were invited to celebrate Robbie's 70th birthday. We needed a present for Robbie. A sparkling Swarovski butterfly pendant was perfect. It was like her short and stylish haircut and colorful like her stories about her family and friends. Warren and I always looked forward to her phone calls and time together when she visited Miami. We love and miss you, Robbie. With love and fond memories, Warren and Donna Wilson
