Roderic Noonan Obituary

Roderic "Rod" Vincent Noonan went home to Jesus on June 20, 2021 at age 78.

Rod was born to the Hon. Judge Gregory F. and Dorothea M. Noonan on August 19, 1942 in Manhattan, New York. Rod earned a BS from Providence College in Rhode Island in 1964.

Rod met his wife, Barbara in 1963 on a blind date hay ride in Boston, MA while they were in college. They married three years later on September 10, 1966 and were later blessed with three healthy children, Rod Jr., Mark and Suzanne. Rod and Barbara began their married life in Stamford, CT where Rod started his 10+ year career with Xerox. Rod's career took the family on a journey living in IL, back to CT, NY and then a big move down south to Louisiana finally settling in Kingwood, TX. Yankees at heart, Rod and Barbara finally found their forever home! Rod would always joke that he felt like a "corporate gypsy".

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Rod's favorite place to be was on the water with his family. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Rod would remind all of us the importance of having integrity and striving to be "Soldiers of Christ". As a lifetime member of the NRA, he loved hunting, boating and most importantly, spending time and inspiring his six grandchildren. He never missed the opportunity to thank a Vet or buy lunch for a first responder. Rod was a servant of St. Martha's Church and his mission and discovered passion was BJM(Between Job Ministries) where he taught and motivated others how to professionally market themselves. One of Rod's gifts from God was to give others comfort and wisdom in preparing them for the next step in their careers. It truly brought him joy and peace when he would pray for his family, friends, fellow parishioners and our country every week during Adoration for the past 20 years of his life.

Rod retired last year from Employer Flexible where he was looked upon as a "mentor" to the three younger founders and always said that it was the BEST place he'd ever worked! He had a special place in his heart for the kids of St. Jude's Hospital and our fallen heroes of Wounded Warriors.

Rod joins Hon. Judge Gregory F. Noonan, Dorothea M. Noonan and Gregory L. Noonan in Heaven. He is survived by wife Barbara Noonan, eldest son Roderic Noonan Jr., son Mark Noonan, daughter Suzanne Noonan Murphy, granddaughters Elena Noonan, Mackenzie Noonan, Ava Noonan & Savannah Murphy and grandsons Roderic Noonan III & Cullen Murphy and sisters Dorothea Baka and Denise Arendts.

Psalm 48:41 "For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end."

The memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home- Atascocita at 2pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021 located at 17404 W. Lake Houston Pkwy. Atascocita, TX 77346.
