On October 15, 2015, Thomas J. Cox peacefully passed away at his home in Kingwood, Texas. Thomas was born October 31, 1940 to Erwin Cox and Paulene Beckett Cox in Covington, Kentucky. He graduated from Dixie Heights High School in Ft. Mitchell, KY in 1958 and later went on to earn a degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve, then went on to work for Gulf Oil company for many years. Thomas is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sara (Sally) Maley Cox, their sons Michael J. Cox in Cordell, OK, James F. Cox in Humble, TX, David T. Cox in Houston, TX, daughters-in-law Kim Tran in Houston, and Gabriela DeLaRosa Cox, in Humble, TX and his grandson Joseph Cox in Humble, TX. Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, with viewing at 5pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015 and the funeral the following day Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2p.m.
