Wayne Snyder, 69, of Crosby, TX passed away on June 3, 2015 with his beloved wife and daughter at his side, holding his hand after battling a long illness. He was known by many in our community as "Coach Papoo" or just "Papoo" as that is what his granddaughter, Alyssa Touchet, named him as a baby.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paulette Snyder, devoted daughter and only child, Angela Snyder Ayres, his granddaughter Alyssa Touchet his two grandsons Logan and Tyler Ayres. and beloved son in law, Richard Ayres whom he loved like a son.
Wayne was born in the small town of Earle, Arkansas on October 18, 2015 t the late Mayes Snyder and Martha Snyder. He is preceded in death by his two siblings, Timmy Snyder and Linda Snyder Henslee. He graduated from Earle HS class of 1964 and was active in sports. He studied a couple of years at Univ. of Arkansas then went on to be a policeman at the Memphis, TN police academy. He served proudly in his community as a cop for 8 years. Due to his dedication and trustworthiness the Mayor of Memphis gave him the key to the city.
In 1970 he met his devoted bride, Paulette Snyder and they were married for 47 years and had one child. After living in Arkansas they moved to Texas and have lived here ever since. After being a policeman the majority of his jobs were managing companies and civic associations until he retired.
Coach Papoo coached his granddaughter, Alyssa Touchet in girls softball in Crosby from the age of 6 through her jr high years. He met alot of great people, coaches, girls on teams and parents. This was the happiest time of his life and shared his love of the game with his fellow coaches and team. One year the girls nicknamed him "Peppermint Papoo" because he would give them peppermints for good plays.
He was a great and dedicated husband, father and grandfather (Papoo) and a wonderful and devoted friend to many. He has touched so many lives and his legacy will forever live on through his family.
Memorial services will be held at the Indian Shores community center on June 28, 2015 at 6 pm (Turn into Indian Shores by Shell Station off of FM 2100 and follow road and it will dead end into the boat dock and community center). Family asks that guests please make donations instead of sending flowers as there was no life insurance.

My sweet daddy its almost Fathers Day again n I miss u even more. Mom n Richard n Alyssa n boys all have a void that cannot be replaced. U gave me life n stood by my side through everything n I feel u here with us. Are there any visiting hours there? Trump is running for president n u would be happy but alot of bad things due to Obama sre happening as his term comes to an end just as u predicted. Mom n I are standing strong for our beliefs n for yours. If u can throw us down some hope n help for this country do it. I love u beyond words n Happy Fathers Day early my precious dad.

We popped a lot of fireworks last night dad and thought of you so much. Logan n Tyler asked if they had fireworks in heaven n also if you could see the fireworks we popped for you. Any holiday is going to be hard for us because you always made them special. We even all held hands while "Eye of the Tiger" was playing n when a big firework went off we all yelled loudly "We love you Papoo!!" Mom even fell asleep with your picture. I love you dad and there is a void because you were half of me and we are so much alike.and I say that with pride. Happy 4th dad. We even watched Independence Day...one of your favorite movies

It's so hard to wrap my head around such a loss! Although our lives have taken us in different directions, my fond memories of Wayne and Paulette and Angie (aka: the "Snydwald's") are forever. I can never forget our Bolivar years, complete with bond fires, BBQ, (Wayne's secret sauce), and ice cold Zimas just to name a few. My prayers are now with you and Angie, Paulette! I know Wayne is in good hands now and not suffering. May God wrap His loving arms around each of you and bring you comfort and strength. All my love, Liz

May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time in your life. We all yearn for better conditions. It is refreshing to know that God's word speaks of a time when all sorrows will be gone and that mankind will live in beautiful surroundings with nothing to fear.- Isaiah 65:17,21-24, will shed light on this.

My dearest Wayne: I miss you every day and every night, "MY SWEET SOUL MATE". Life will never be the same without you. You have had my heart sine you swept me off my feet on our first date. I miss our long talks together, our precious time at the boat dock watching the sunset together on the lake down from our house, watching our favorite shows in our matching recliners, great times at our beach house and all the gatherings and BBQ`s with family and friends, your sense of humor, your smile and your touch. I love you forever.
