May 21, 1944 - February 27, 2025
Richard E. Elsinger, 80, passed away February 27, 2025, at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha NE. He was born May 21, 1944 to Charles and Margaret (Petersen) Elsinger.
Richard graduated from South High School (1962) before joining the Army (1964). He was a Vietnam War veteran. Richard and Kathleen married in May of 1968. He worked for Baker's Supermarket (Meat Dept.) from 1971 to 2007.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Petersen, Bessie (Zentz) Petersen; his Parents; sister, Sharon (Elsinger) Feekin; son, Jeremy Elsinger; numerous Aunts/Uncles; cousins, Donna Petersen, Russel (Cathy) Petersen, Karen (Krebs) Rumsey, John Podrazo; brother-in-law's, Tom Cecetka, Terry Thomas, Scott Nicely; sister-in-law, Ruth Cecetka.
Survived by a loving family: his wife, Kathleen (Cecetka) Elsinger; daughter, Janine (Elsinger Fritz) Northington; son-in-law, Jon Northington; grandson's, Sam Fritz, Stone Fritz; in-laws, Duane Feekin, Rich (Claudia) Cecetka, Joan (Cecetka) Thomas and Carlos Duran, Geri (Cecetka Nisely) and (Ed) Moore, Ed Cecetka, Elaine (Cecetka) Wood, Mary Jo Cecetka, James Cecetka; cousins, Gloria (Petersen) Erickson and Dem Erickson, Robert Rumsey, Keith Rumsey, Paulette (Rumsey) Hrdy and Frank Hrdy, Pamela (Rumsey) Podrazo, John Rumsey; numerous nieces/nephews and friends.
Services are scheduled on May 21, 2025, 1:30 p.m., at the Omaha National Cemetery.
