Canoeing on the Econlockhatchee River will never be the same without Everett and Tee as our guides. They will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. The exquisite bald eagle that swooped down over our canoes on that first outing many decades ago will forever symbolize their constant love for God's Creation and for all who shared it with them. May their sojourn with the Creator be all that Everett and Tee hoped for and expected. And may they find many canoeable streams in Heaven...

Everett and Tee were very special people in so many lives. Especially the Girl Scout troops in Winter Park, Florida. They will both be missed by many. My prayers and thoughts are with the many friends and family members.

Mr. Leedy provided both canoeing lessons and life lessons for many Girl Scouts, including myself. The ripples of his life continue endlessly as we teach new generations of young people the joys of nature, God, and friendship.

Lives are molded by the people with whom we share our lives. I was blessed by sharing a portion of my life with Everett and Tee Leedy. As many others, I am proud to say that Everett Leedy taught me canoeing - my feeling has always been that I learned from a true master. Some of my fondest memories are those of Christmas canoe trips with the Leedys. Striking out down one of Florida's wonderful wilderness rivers with them led to great adventures, a sense of awe, and provided lasting self-confidence.

Everett and Tee are fine examples of the Girl Scout Promise and Laws and their leadership and friendship have served me well throughout my life both as a teenager growing up and as an adult.

Everett and Tee Leedy were a big part of life for many of us growing up in Winter Park in the '50s and '60s. Everett's parents owned Leedys in downtown W.P. They were close friends of my parents and we grew up camping, canoeing and even fishing with the Leedys! My mom had known them since the '30s when she and Everett were in high school (WPHS.) Tee had been an active Girl Scout (even earned a Golden Eaglet) so it was natural that Everett became a Girl Scout too. If they were along on a trip, you knew it would be fun! They taught us reverence for our natural world long before it was in fashion; that's just who they were. He and Tee were directors of Camp Ticochee around 1960 and I learned to swim, sail and paddle board from Everett. He was very creative and talented and could figure out how to make just about anything work. They made a real difference in our world and I am so thankful for having had Everett and Tee in my life!! My sympathy to his sister Lorraine and all their nieces and nephews.

Everett and Tye Leedy were an important part of my scouting and growing up yeats more than forty years ago. Not only did they teach me how to canoe correctly, but they were awesome role models. Both were fantastic teachers who helped instill in me a pattern for teaching that I used in both my classroom and with my Girl Scouts. Stern but loving and willing to take the time to impart knowledge because of their passion for the subjec, they were extraordinary human beings. Not many can say they vividly remember teachers (in or out of the classroom) from their past, but I can. Everett and Tye Leedy made a lasting impression on me, and I'm sure many others. May God hold you in the palm of his hand and allow you to conduct your own canoe school in heaven.

Thank you for all you did so lovingly for so many of my Citrus Gold sisters. There is a special place in Heaven for those that give from their hearts without the expectation of earthly compensation.

Mr. Leedy will be remembered by the many Girl Scouts who took canoeing lessons from him and Mrs. Leedy. I have fond memories of paddling around the lake behind their house during some of those lessions. Every time I see a canoe or go conoeing I think of Everett and Tee and the joy of canoeing they taught me.
