Dear Polly and Greg,
The Mounts family have been in my thoughts since my Mom called me with the news about Matthew. A few years back when I was visiting, Tom and I were at Publix and he had a Matthew spotting. It was the first time I'd seen him in many years, we were able to speak for bit and it was great seeing him.
Thinking back 40 years remembering when we were young kids and came over to see Matthew and Greg, at your house off Forest Hill and then the Mounts property west of town. The overnights on the weekend and playing football in the yard. It was always Matt and Mitch v Greg and Tim. I don't think Greg and I ever won but I remember always having fun.
These are the experiences that will always have me remember Matthew.
My condolences and sincerest sympathy.
Tim

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples. Mother Teresa
Coach Mounts, you created oceans of ripples with your genuine care for people and your affinity for the students. We celebrate your integrity, your kindness, and sincerity that was truly felt through every conversation and exchange experienced. Impact does not only come from time; it comes from quality. Your impact on our family through guidance and support was treasured and you were Wellington High's treasure. Your leadership to the JV cheer family was abounding and infectious. Our family is grateful for you and we celebrate your spirit and the wonderful man you were. May there be many more who walk in your character.
Our love and care to the family,
Hartner family

Polly, though we never met Matt and only knew you for a few times during our seasonal visits to FL., we have read these many tributes by friends and students of Matt. They truly reflect what an outstanding mentor, teacher, and friend he was to so many. These tributes are also a reflection of the positive influence of his parents, and particularly his mother, Polly. I think of the inspiration he provided but share as I may in your loss and grief. Peace, John and Eva (Canada & Ocean Ridge) Meyer

Coach Mounts played a truly significant role in assisting my children in their high school years. First, Matt coached my oldest daughter, who was a not so quiet rusher on his flag football team. Matt then coached my son in weight training, punting, place kicking, and in philosophy. He would challenge children to be their best at every level.
Whenever one of the kids was injured they would call Matt to discuss the best way to rehab so that they could continue to compete.
Perhaps the best way to sum up his involvement with my family is that my wife, who saw him at least 30 times at different events relating to the children, told me that she never really knew his first name because the kids called Coach and I called Coach.
Rest in peace Coach and thanks for everything you did for our family and for so many other families.

Matt meant a lot to my son Matthew Moore. He mentored him throughout his life but the biggest impact was in High School. My son is now a US Marine, impart due to the values Matt instilled in the students at Wellington. My son flew in from his base in California to remember how wonderful your son Matt was. Mary
Thanks for your inspiration and guidance Coach Mounts

Matt was a coach and mentor to our son at Palm Beach Central and a close friend in the 8 years after his high school graduation. He continued to offer our son guidance through his college football years at JU, his internship with Jacksonville Jaguars and into his career at PBA. They enjoyed road trips to sporting events and body building competitions. Mike credits Matt for being instrumental in helping him get to where he is today. We were all so lucky to have him in our lives. He will always live on in our hearts and memories. Our condolences to Polly and his family.

Met Matt in 8th grade in 1979 when he gave me a nickname I still use today...my first friend in Florida. Good times riding bikes to the beach, hanging out at his house, visiting his grandmother. Years later, he was someone that looked after my nieces at WHS. The last 4 years watching over my 2 at WHS. RIP my friend!

Truly one of the nicest guys I ever knew, from a teenager to adulthood. We were in JIL, PBJC, and UF together, and then later WHS. He always asked about my son whenever I ran into him at the high school. He made an effort to personalize every greeting. I cannot even imagine WHS without him there. He touched so many lives and made every one feel important. He was proud of the students and truly enjoyed their successes. From the outpouring of love from his Wolverine kids, you know how very much he cared for them. And, they loved him right back. Being an inspiration in the school setting these days is not easy. Matt was born to do it flawlessly. I will miss a long-time friend. He was the best, always. Blessings to a great man and his family. Pat, Dan, Collin

to the mounts family, I just want to convey my condolences for your loss.
to matt, I know we haven't had any contact for too long. but we had some good times. like the time we arrived at school early at jeff davis. we were goofing around in the band room. you took off running out the door and I chased. you turned the corned and ran smack dab into mrs zasloff, a teacher that was only about 4 ft tall. I know she didn't think it was funny, but you and I did. you will be missed my friend.

To Coach Mounts family,
We are so very grateful for Coach Mounts' influence on our son's life. Spenser was a football player under his leadership but more importantly, Coach showed Spenser about perseverance, fairness, hard work, grace, priorities, laughter, strength, confidence.
To his mom, you raised an amazing son and man who inspired others. We went to First Watch cafe today to remember him as we would often see you two enjoying breakfast together on a Sunday morning. He always had a smile and kind word to share for our son.
Our hearts break with you as you say good-bye to an amazing man.
Regards,
The Foley family
