Michael WEEKS Obituary

WEEKS, Michael Allen
Michael Allen Weeks, a prominent and well respected attorney, died Monday, November 1, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 44. Michael was a 4th generation Palm Beach County native, graduating from Jupiter High School in 1989. He went on to first receive his Bachelors Degree and then Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 1996 . Following his graduation he was associated with several prominent Palm Beach County law firms, ultimately establishing his own commercial litigation firm. He was a unique individual and mediator and treated friends and clients alike with kindness and patience.
He and his wife Katrina Dulin Weeks, were married in 1999 and were both longtime residents of West Palm Beach. During this time Michael was an advocate of the City serving on numerous boards including Interim City Commissioner and the City Planning Board. He was active in many capacities with SunFest of Palm Beach County including Chairman of the Club SunFest Program, member of Risk Management Committee and serving on the Board of Directors for six years, ultimately being elected President of the 2011 event. His appreciation of music made this association a labor or love. Michael's life's pleasures revolved around his love of traveling and adventures with his wife Katrina, and included trips to Alaska, the Bahamas, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago and Antigua. He was a huge "Gator" Fan and enjoyed cheering his team on at every game either in Gainesville or at parties at home with good friends. He was an avid chef and would always theme the meal according to the opponent. Michael dealt with his illness in much the same way as he lived his life - with determination, courage, humor and hope. He will be missed by all those who knew him. Along with Katrina, his wife of 20 years, he is survived by his parents Jim & Linda Weeks, brother & sister-in-law Mark and Brooke Weeks, grandmother Olive Weeks, aunt Vicki Viejo, uncle Bill Weeks, father in-law & wife Jim & Julie Dulin, mother in-law Joan Tucker and brother in-law
A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held on Sunday, November 13th at the Lake Pavilion on Flagler Drive from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Donations in Michaels name may be made to: Furry Friends Adoption Clinic & Ranch in Jupiter, FL 561-747-5311.

I'm so saddened hearing about my friends passing. I will not forget the kindness and the helping hand when I needed it. SunFest was fun, the Palm Beach Offshore was fun, working with Michael was always pleasant. I know you are in a better place, look up my son, he is up there with you, setting everything up for us to join them. God blessed me by introducing me to Michael and Katrina. Thank you lord, Michael is up there helping you now.

Katrina and Family, I am so sad to hear about Michael. My thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a special person. I had the honor of working for him while he served as a commissioner for the City of West Palm Beach. He was kind and great to work for. The thing I remember most is how happy he was and how his face would light up when he spoke about Katrina. I hope happy memories of Michael will help to bring you peace and comfort. Sincerely,

Katrina & Family,

I met Mike in Gainesville 23 yrs ago almost exactly in law school. A very good friend, we played basketball together, and as the 2 "tall" guys, we battled down low under the basket for position, almost wrestling... had a LOT of fun together, Gator games, law school exams, parties, etc. A GREAT guy, a guy I'd want my daughters to marry one day. A class act in every possible way and I know he has been an amazing attorney. A HUGE loss to the community and his family. Will always remember all the fun we had together, driving up & down from Gainesville, meeting his parents, going to Sunfest, etc. I know he fought very hard. Love u my Gator Brother... RIP.

Katrina,

I am so sorry for your loss. Michael was a wonderful man, a talented and skilled lawyer, and he had a special glow about him whenever he spoke of you and the adventures you lived together. Our firm is better for having had the opportunity to work with him. I will always remember fondly how he joined us in a charity softball game the weekend before he even started at the firm. We needed athletes, and he was happy to help out, and ended up hurt like the rest of us - taking one for the team before he had even joined it!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

With deepest sympathy,

Dearest Katrina,

The world has lost an extraordinary young man, who loved his family, friends, clients, community, music, adventure, work, the beach, and, of course, you, his wife/his soulmate. he simply and spectacularly loved live and embraced it fully. The planet was a better place because of Michael. He will be greatly missed. Joe and I will keep you and the entire family in our thoughts and prayers.
