Family-Placed Funeral Notice

STEPHEN W. LINGER 58, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2005. He had been a resident of South Florida since April of 2004, having moved from Raleigh, NC. He was a former President of the Frederick, MD Chamber of Commerce and was an Outstanding Young Marylander in the early 1980's. Mr. Linger was an honorably discharged veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a softball coach to his daughter in Lewistown, MD, at Thomas Johnson High School, Messiah College and Frederick Community College. Mr. Linger graduated from the University of Maryland in 1972 and from Wesley Theological Seminary. After graduating from Wesley, he was ordained Pastor of Lewistown United Methodist Church in Lewistown, MD. Survivors include his loving wife, Janice LaVore; children, Kerry (Kevin) Plumer of Martinsburg, W. VA and Stephen M. (Yvonne) Linger of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Krista, Phaedron and Kyle; mother, Juanita Linger of Frederick, MD; brothers, Ernie, Ronnie and Fred Linger; sister, Mary Posey. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 13th at Calvary Chapel, 3190 Hypoluxo Road, Boynton Beach, FL. The Linger family will receive their friends from 7 PM until 9 PM that evening at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL. Mr. Linger will be laid to rest in Frederick, MD.
