Audrey Whitt Nutter passed away November 2, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. One of six children, she was born September 18, 1921 and raised on her family's tobacco farm in eastern Kentucky. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to many .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Jessie Whitt; husband, Andrew J. Nutter; her sister, Alta; four brothers, Doug, Rodney, Rolfe and Wayne. She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Jeffrey and wife Shari, grandchildren Ryan, Brooke and Nick, niece June Whitt, and many others, all who loved her dearly.
She met Andrew J. Nutter when both were employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, and they were married in 1954. They moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1963 when Andrew accepted employment as an engineer with NASA at the Johnson Space Center.
She is a former member of the Pasadena League of Women Voters, and she enjoyed working in Early Voting for elections for many years. She was also a member of the Community Club of Pasadena, Mount Vernon Civic Club, and various bridge clubs. Playing bridge was her life's passion in her later years. She attended Faith Presbyterian Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday November 11, 2011 at Pasadena Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family before the service will begin at 3:00. For further information, please visit the funeral home website.
