Bobby Brown Obituary

age 67, had his season end on August 22, 2014. His season began on February 18, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas and his early years were spent in Holliday, Texas. He was an avid baseball player from the time he could hold a bat. He was a standout player at South Houston High School in Pasadena, Texas, where he was one of the few players able to get a hit off of Nolan Ryan. He also played fast pitch and slow pitch softball later on in life. Bobby proudly served his country in Korea from 1967 thru 1969 with the United States Army.

There were two seasons in his life, deer season and not deer season, according to him. He was happiest sitting in a deer stand and loved the outdoors. If there are deer in Heaven, they better watch out for him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Harry Brown, and his daughter, Stephanie Lee Brown. He is survived by daughter, Kacee Lynn Jackson and husband Kyle; sons, Bobby Wayne Brown, Jr. and wife Amy and Brady Wade Brown; grandchildren, Grant, Blake, Ashtyn and Brayson Brown and Collin and Jena Alverson; sister, Sandra Kittrell and husband Roger; and uncle, Bud Riddle and wife Jean.

Friends are invited to visit with the family starting at 4 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier and Wilson, Suite 115, Conroe, Texas 77301, where a 5 pm funeral service will be held. Bobby will be buried in the Holliday Cemetery in Holliday, Texas.

For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

I can't believe its been almost 5 years since you left us. Not a day goes by that we don't think about you. We love you today as much as we did five years ago. You'll always be my honey b.

One of the slickest fielding short stops I ever had the pleasure to play against. A cocky ballplayer who could back it up with his outstanding playing ablilty. My sincere condolences to his family for their loss.

Bobby & Brady, I never met a daddy who was so proud of his boys. He talked about how lucky he is to have such great kids and what wonderful men you have become. Whenever he talked about you, he smiled. Sandra, he said you were a great little sister. How his life changed the day you came home from the hospital. He talked about driving you around when you were little.

Bobby showed me unconditional love. He is truly a gentle man. I'm blessed that he was in my life for a year and a half. Katie told me, it was better to be loved for a short time, like Bobby loved me than to never have been loved before. We laughed, we cried but most of all we shared a love that changed my life forever. I learned that no matter what you do together, enjoy it. I carried 50 pound bags of corn at the deer lease, time watching him hit golf balls and we spent hours picking up rub rocks. My girls and your daddy had a special relationship. They love him and he loves them. I will never forget the love your daddy and I shared. May the memories help us through the days ahead.

I love you Bobby Wayne. I always will, until we meet again.

I played ball with Bobby on the senior teenage city champion Cardinals. He was a great guy and an exceptional ball player!

I hope all of you will find comfort knowing that Bobby lived his life the way he wanted to. He played every game the same way. He always gave 100%, he played to win, and was never content with a loss. It was my privilege to play with him for three years at South Houston. He is one of the finest baseball players I've ever known. My wife and I will remember Bobby and all of you in our prayers.

Hope the good memories of your Dad, the laughter, and the love play over and over in your heart and bring you comfort. We will miss him and will always have a special place in our hearts. May God wrap his arms around you and lift you up in the coming days ahead. Jim and Lindy
