I have many fond memories of Sis Buchanan during our bus ministry runs early on Sunday mornings in Pasadena. This was back in the late 1970s & 80s before I graduated. We were picking up the children for Sunday School, and Bro. Buchanan came along to drive the bus, if I remember. We all felt God's blessings doing this ministry back then and Sis. Buchanan was one of the most dedicated servants to the Lord I have ever met, not to mention her kind spirit and sweetness. She will be deeply missed until we all return to the Heavens. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Sis Buchanan one of the most gracious ladies that you would ever meet. I was blessed to grow up in the same church with her and Bro. John ! Her love of God and family was just not seen at church but in the everyday life she lived. She was a great blessing to me and to all that knew her. She will be missed but she is now reunited with Bro. John in heaven!

Speaking on behalf of my Mother, Myrtle Hanes.......I will miss my good friend.
Irish came to my Mother's side when my sister and nephew died. Iris stayed beside my Mom until she felt Mom was okay. My family really appreciated Iris and John. Thank you for being a good friend to my family.

I called her Sister "B". Always a beautiful example. She was one of the great Pillars of the Assembly. There was no question where she stood on the things of God. She was a Sunday school teacher, had a bus ministry route, worked on the outreach programs and you knew she was going to stay in the altar until victory came. She was with me when I was baptized in Jesus name. Always faithful to the Pentecostals of Pasadena. Her family has a strong heritage from her and Brother John. I visited her several times in her new home and she never changed. She was much loved and she will be missed.

Sis Buchanan was an amazing & meek Christian Lady. Her heartbeat was her family, church & helping others. If you are a Pasadena resident most likely she and her outreach friend Lou Cooper have knocked on your door to invite you the Pentecostal Church on Strawberry. She loved Bus Ministry & Sunday School. To everyone she taught she was a favorite. She also was a Co-Director for services held at Pasadena Care Center. Sis Buchanan was also known for her Famous Strawberry Cake! It has graced many homes during bereavement and birthdays! I dearly loved this Precious Old Time Religion Christian Lady! She Believed, Lived & Shared Jesus Christ to all. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Sis Buchanan, You have kept the faith. Now enter into Heaven Rejoycing for you have run the race well!

She was an unwaveringly faithful Christian wife, mother and grandmother. That is the highest praise I know of on this earth for "a woman after God's own heart."

She was one of my favorite Sunday School teachers. She put her heart into it and it showed.
