On the evening of December 6, 2015, James Williams passed away peacefully at his home in Pasadena, TX. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Williams; son, Mark Williams and wife, Karen; daughter, Lisa Mitchell; grandchildren Kellye Williams, Austin Mitchell and Alexa Mitchell; sister, Patricia Rogers and her husband, Mills; sister-in- law Joan Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents, John Sharp Williams and Annie Mae Williams, and brother Jesse Ellis Williams. Born on July 27, 1932 in Drew, Mississippi, James graduated from Rosedale High school in 1950. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1956 stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base as an Honor Guard. The majority of James' career was spent at Brown & Root and he retired in 1997 after over 30 years of service. During his service at Brown & Root, James was largely responsible for their highway and paving business and developed memorable lifetime friendships with numerous colleagues and their families. In his retirement years, he continued his passion for the outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing, and time with his family and friends at his ranch in Carrizo Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center (PO Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486) or a charity of your choice.
