Jesse Floyd King, 85, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was born to Jess Elvin King and Esma Corene Laird King on January 11, 1928. He was the fifth born of eight children. Jesse was an avid hunter for over forty years. He owned S &K Sales in Deer Park between the 1960's & 1980's and was very prominent in the community. Jesse was the head coach of the girls softball team "The Green Demons" in Deer Park/Pasadena for many years. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Jesse met Dorothy Mae Tillman, the love of his life, during a high school basketball tournament in McAlester, Oklahoma; and as we can all guess...the rest is history. The two were married May 20, 1948, in Savannah, Oklahoma. The two enjoyed each other's company for 65 years.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Tillman King; brother, Doyle King; sister, LaJuanna King Hagler; daughter, Claudia Mae King Elders and her husband Dale Elders; daughter, Connie Jean King Fair and her husband Jerry Fair; grandchildren: Brian Elders and his wife Tina, Audrey Elders, Jessica Wilson, Jennifer Lifshutz and her husband Jason; great-grandchildren: Aislin Elders, Alyssa Wilson, Candler Elders and Samantha Lifshutz.
Family to receive friends 1 pm, Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Longmire Church of Christ, 200 Longmire RoadConroe, TX77304, funeral service to begin at 2 pm. Internment to follow at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, TX. Flowers may be sent to the church on the day of the service.
