Dr. Mark Thomas Woods, 52, of La Porte, Texas passed away August 22nd, 2011. He was born on April 3rd, 1959 in Houston, Texas to George C. Woods and Mirabelle Lanier. Mark graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas, attended the University of Texas-Austin, and graduated from Texas Chiropractic College with highest honors. He was a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association, and past President of the La Porte Rotary Club, Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, and Ducks Unlimited. His father precedes him in death and he is survived by his mother Mirabelle Lanier, children Mark A. Woods, Cheri Woods, Kelli Woods, his wife Debra Woods, and her children Christy Haston, and Clay Haston, his brother George C. Woods, Jr. and wife Barbara, his sister Rosemary Payne and husband Martin, three grandchildren Mason Peres, Bella Stokley, and Emily Chapa.
Dr. Woods was devoted to his practice in La Porte, Texas for the past 27 years. Mark's family, faith, and ethics defined him. Mark enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. His retirement was enriched by devotions to his Grandchildren and hobbies. Visitation will be at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home in La Porte, Texas on Thursday August 25th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be at South Main Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas on August 26th at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park, Pasadena, Texas. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
