Michael Anthony Ogden, 48, died peacefully on November 19, 2011, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a courageous 11-year battle with Leukemia. He was the oldest of 3 children, born to Tony & Bo Ogden, on October 10, 1963 in San Antonio, Tx.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony & Mary Louise Ogden and Al & Dorothy Braun, all of San Antonio. Michael is survived by the love of his life, Colleen Reed Ogden and daughters, Casie & Kylie Ogden; parents Tony & Bo Ogden; brother Carl Ogden and wife, Lynne; sister Suzanne Rodriguez and husband Jessie; and many nieces & nephews.
Michael attended St. Pius V Catholic School and Pasadena High School. He graduated in 1982 and promptly became a Proud Texas Aggie! Michael earned both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M University in 1987 and 1989. After graduating, he worked for the Texas Transportation Institute, an affiliate of the Texas A & M system. In 1998, he joined Klotz and Associates, becoming Senior Vice-President in 2009. Michael was an extremely active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, sat on the Advisory Council for the Dept. of Civil Engineering at Prairie View A & M; was on the Board of Directors for the Houston Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and donated time with the MD Anderson Volunteer Network. Michael was also a Past President of Baytran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, Tx. 77581.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Houston, 5005 Mitchelldale St., Suite 115, Houston, Tx. 77092.

Time passes, but some things remain. The pain of losing a child lasts forever. We just deal with it. I'm remembering your loss of Michael and wishing you comfort as you pass another date of his death. We have since lost the grandson we raised, Bryan's son, last June 19 of fentynol poisoning. It never gets easier. Just know my sympathy is still with you.

Bo,
I remember meeting Michael at the St. Clair Gala a few years ago--what a wonderful smile. My sympathy to you and your family for your loss. Our second son, Bryan, had what appeared to be flu but just passed away on Oct. 17 of cardiac arrest. Hopefully their spirits have met and they are together keeping watch over all of us as we mourn their passing, but rejoice in their heavenly freedom. My first son, Brett, has been there 20 years, so I'm sure he can "show them the ropes". My condolences from one mother's heart to another. Please let me know if I can be of help in any way.

To the Ogden family: Mike's spirit will continue with all of us, because he had a "ZEST" for life. I know you all will miss him, but we all have to remember the fond times shared with Mike. He could always turn your worst day in to a GREAT day! May God continue to Bless the Ogden family.

To Colleen, Casie, Kylie, Bo, Tony, Carl, Suzanne, Lynne, and Jessie...
Even though Michael and all of us understood the risks he faced, the reality is not made easier. My prayers for eventual internal comfort are with each of you. Even though I am certain that Michael is in good hands, my heart is still hollowed. My Dad died 2 years ago on 11/19. I have prayed and cried for both Michael and for Clyde and for each of you. May God embrace Michael and keep each of you in his arms.

Eternity
He was sailing the sea and looking around the bend
When all at once he saw something near the end.
Thought he saw a shadow and a bright light
Warmth came over him that felt so right.
Was he really dying or just having a dream
Was it an angel, that's what it seemed?
He closed his eyes and thought of his family
A smile crossed his face as he recalled a fond memory.
An angel said, “Open your eyes and look my way
For this is the moment, this is your day.
Come meet your loved ones and Jesus too,
They have been waiting just for you.”
He could not believe what he saw
There was a heavenly place beyond the waterfall.
There will be no more hurt and no more tears
No more pain and no more fears.
Roses in full bloom and soft music playing
A beautiful sunset with loved ones praying.
God held out His hand and showed him the way
To the place where he would forever stay.
He worked through life to the very end
Trying to be the best son, brother, husband, and friend.
As time goes by we will begin to heal
There are not enough words to describe how we feel....
This is an excerpt from a poem I wrote. I believe that heaven is an awesome place and Mike is smiling and at peace looking down on his family. We offer our sincere condolences especially during this time of the year.

Going Home
A mom losing her son is always too soon
He will be in heaven tonight overlooking the moon.
When we are sad and wondering why
Just look up to the brilliant blue sky.
God knows the sorrow that you feel
He will mend your heart and help you heal.
Your son is in heaven at peace with the biggest smile
Knowing he is with loved ones he hasn't seen for a while.
He will visit you in a dream while you sleep
His angel will quiet you when you weep.
Come together and unite as one
To honor and love your precious son.
When God shows the time is right
You both will meet in heaven on another night.
By Pamela Whiddon Cruz

Dearest Bo, Tony, Carl and Suzanne, I just heard today about Mike and my heart is breaking for you. I have such sweet memories of Mike and all of you during the 80s at St. Pius V...the ski trips, youth retreats, etc. And, I am imaging Mike resting in the arms of our Lord, at peace and with no pain. Please know that I am keeping your family in prayer this week, trusting that your strong faith will see you through the sadness. Blessings to all. Miss Betty
