Paul Thompson passed away on May 2, 2013. He was born to D.C. and Blanche Thompson on November 3, 1923 in Volga, West Virginia. Paul is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Roger and Patricia Thompson of Deer Park, grandson Dennis Thompson and his wife Julie of Deer Park, nephew Vaughn Thompson of Hagerstown, Maryland, step-daughter Terry Stewart of Deer Park, step-daughter Kathy Franz and her husband Steve of Houston, and many step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Blanche Thompson, Billie Fay Thompson, and Peggy Thompson as well as his parents, and brothers Vaughn, Wilbur, and Stanley. Paul was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Deer Park, where he served as a deacon, and later a member of Bethel Baptist church. Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1946 with the 303rd Medical Battalion. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the European/African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He loved spending time with his family, card-playing, fishing, and was an avid golfer. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
