Percy James "Jay" Templet, Jr. passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Autumn Leaves Memory Care of The Woodlands, Texas. He was born July 20, 1924 in White Castle, LA and was a long-time resident of Port Allen, LA; Pasadena, TX; and in later years, Pearland, TX. "Jay", as he preferred to be called, interrupted his college studies at LSU to serve his country as an army officer in WWII. His professional career was spent with Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge and Deer Park where he held management positions in accounting and finance. Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Poirrier Templet; his parents Percy, Sr. and Hilda Park Templet; and sisters Rosemary Templet, Betty Templet Cazes, and Gloria Templet Judice. Jay is survived by his brother William (Mary) Templet, Plaquemine, LA; and by six children: Linda (Mike) Allain, The Woodlands, TX; James (Bonnell) Templet, Deer Park, TX; Mark (Cheryle) Templet, Conroe, TX; John (Debbie) Templet, Conroe, TX; Paul Templet, Pana, IL; and Christine (Christopher) Roberts, Summit, MS. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great grand-children. For many years prior to their move back to Texas, Jay was a very active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation with the family will on Friday November 15th, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, LA, from 9:30 a.m. until a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by The Reverend Greg Daigle. Interment will be in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery, Donaldsonville, LA. Special thanks to the staff and management of Autumn Leaves of the Woodlands and to that of Bristol Hospice of The Woodlands for their compassionate care. Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers may do so to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.

Mr. Templet ( Percy) got me a job in Houston at the Ethyl Plant for which I am eternally grateful. He was a very nice guy and easy to work for. My condolences to the family. Larry Champagne
