Robert Morgan Obituary

Robert Lynn Morgan, 58, formerly from Vidor TX, later residing in Kingwood TX, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 12, 2021. He was graduate of Vidor High in 1981 and attended Alvin Community College where he earned his nursing degree in 1993. He then went on to further his education, obtaining his Baccalaureate and Masters in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Robert was truly a pioneer in his field, never one to just accept conventional wisdom but instead he would spend most of his free time researching the latest evidenced based practices from around the world. He believed that traditional medicinal practices were not helpful enough and spent countless hours researching, attending conferences and interacting with world leading experts to develop a better understanding of how to provide the best quality of care that he could.

His passion was in quality of life and the incredibly complex management of hormone replacement therapy. He felt that all patients had to be viewed as individuals and that the answers were not black and white as what the textbooks would lead practitioners to believe. He was known donate his time and services for free at times when he knew clients were unable to afford to pay. Jennifer Gonzalez devotedly worked side by side with him everyday at Kingwood Health and Wellness, which was started in 2004. She was ultimately with him until the very end which definitely brought him peace.

Most recently he had began to organize many of his fellow colleagues and help establish practice guidelines, organizations, peer support groups and even publish some of his findings in an effort to contribute to the field for which he cared so greatly. Robert was truly a giver in every sense of the word, and his loyalty to his friends was unmatched. He always put his friend's needs before his own and was selfless to a fault, caring for those who couldn't care for themselves. Some joked that his heart was bigger than his brain at times.

He is also responsible for creating the Dickinson Festival of Lights in 1998, the non-profit light show that was started so that all families could enjoy a beautiful Christmas experience for free and has been in existence for over 20 years. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, politics and conspiracy theories, singing karaoke, frequenting various Mexican restaurants while hanging out with friends. He had also been taking flying lessons and was only a solo away from achieving that dream.

He is survived by his mother Bertha, his sons Justin, Ryan and Trent and his two grandsons James Connor and Andrew Wayne.

Robert's siblings include Carla, Mark, Tabitha, Nathan, Jason and Josh. He also has several nieces and nephews and lifelong best friend Terry Reese.

I was a patient of Robert´s for many years and continued to come in after moving out of town. I only just learned of his passing after calling to make an appointment and was shocked and saddened. He was obviously an expert in his field but was also compassionate and very caring. We enjoyed some lively political discussions and he would remember details about my family. I was in the office shortly before he passed and his last words to me were "we love you and God bless".

Robert was one-of-a-kind. He had adoring patients who traveled long and far for his extraordinary care. I am shocked and saddened by this loss. He was an exceptional provider in his field. He will be greatly missed. Truly heart-broken.
