Robert L. Stevens was born December 10, 1933 in Pasadena Texas. Robert served in the US Army from 1952-1954. He worked for the Port of Houston ILA local 24 for 33 years. He shared a wonderful life with his wife Louise. He was a devoted family man. When he wasn't spending time with his kids and grandchildren, he was working in the yard and tending to his flowers. Robert passed away peacefully Sunday November 15, 2015 just after 6:45pm in his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Stevens; daughters Melissa Stevens Barton and her partner Jennifer; Felice Stevens; 3 grandchildren, Carissa Cano and husband Matt, Hanna Montalvo and her husband Brandon, and Steven Syphrett; 3 great grandchildren, Demie Cano, Brody Montalvo, and Brenton Robert Montalvo. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, J.R. and Thelma Stevens, brothers George R. Stevens, and Jimmy L. Stevens and loving son Robert L. Stevens Jr. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Grand View Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Grand View Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.

He seemed like a very nice guy the one time we met him. Had a wonderful restful back yard. Sorry for your loss, he'll be missed.
