Timothy Ryan Obituary

Timothy Matthew Ryan was born November 7, 1962, to Dennis and Barbara Ryan in Pasadena, Texas. He passed away at his home in Pasadena on Sunday, March 27, 2022, with his loving wife and beautiful children by his side. He is survived by his wife Chonthicha (Kat) Ryan and stepdaughter Jenifer Howell; daughter Brandy Gilbertson, husband Richard and stepson Connor; daughter Cheri Ryan; and granddaughters Zoye and Lily Jones. He is also survived by his brother Michael Ryan and wife Wilma; sister Nancy Ryan Cunningham and husband Gary; sister Sarah Ryan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that turned into family.

Tim graduated from Deer Park High School in 1981 where he initially learned auto paint and body skills. He furthered that education at San Jacinto College for two years. After college Tim worked for Timmers Chevrolet and continued honing his skills. That led him to the City of Pasadena where he eventually became the Body Shop Supervisor, a position he held until his retirement on December 14, 2012 with 30 years of service. For the past few years, Tim had been working as a part-time Code Enforcement Officer for the City until the recent decline in health made that impossible.

In 1989, Tim began participating with the Confederate Air Force in air shows at Ellington Air Force Base. Once the CAF found out Tim was a mechanic, they put him to work, painting and doing mechanical maintenance on the B-17 which eventually led him to flying in a B-17 Flying Fortress, as well as flying with the B-25.

Because the adrenaline of flying airplanes wasn't enough, Tim joined the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department on August 13, 1996, and retired on December 1, 2017, at one time serving as Captain of Station 3. He took very seriously his volunteer service with the fire department and assisted with all that our firemen do daily to protect the citizens of Pasadena.

He was also an avid gardener and, along with his wife, enjoyed landscaping the yard with beautiful shrubs, flowers, vegetables and herbs. Tim and Kat were married November 15, 2014 in a beautiful backyard ceremony at their home.

Tim was strong in his Christian faith and had no doubt that he would be joining his Lord and Savior after his passing from this world. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
