Thomas Leon Goodwin Sr. 83, also known as "Tom" and "Pepaw" born February 7, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to Charles and Lura Goodwin, passed away in Deer Park, Texas on February 16, 2014.
Tom proudly served his country in both the Navy and the Air Force. Upon entering civilian life he continued to serve his country as a pioneer in the early Aerospace program, involved on all Apollo Missions and numerous other NASA projects. He was very easy going and took life as it came, greeting each new challenge with his coffee cup in hand. Tom loved to roller skate, discuss politics, and of course drink coffee, but his true love was spending time with his family.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Goodwin; by his son, Charles "Chuck" Goodwin; by his parents, Charles and Lura Goodwin; and by all of his siblings: Ruben, Annie, Libby, Dave, and Wanda.
He is survived by his son, Leon Goodwin and wife Traci; by his grandchildren: Nicole Goodwin, Tommy Goodwin and wife Terri Ann, Rachel Anhorn, Dominy Goodwin, and Zach Goodwin; by his great-grandchildren: Samantha Goodwin and Michael Goodwin; by his sisters-in-law: Patti Meiners, Bobbie Jo Rodriguez, and Mary Thomas; by his nephews: Sean Holman and Brent Holman; and by many other loving nephews, nieces, family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 2 pm, in the chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, Texas 77503.
