Henry Silberman Obituary

Henry T. Silberman, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born in Harrisburg on November 25, 1944 to the late Benjamin Z. and Edna (Westerman) Silberman.
A retired synagogue administrator, he was affectionately called "Poppy" by his grandchildren. He was a proud Philadelphia sports fan and dedicated supporter of Penn State. And he loved words. Whether it was a good Daniel Silva novel, a competitive word game, or writing a poem to sum up a momentous occasion. Throughout his years, he also had a fond appreciation of doo wop music. Although, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Raisha.
Surviving is his wife, Marcia "Jackye" Silberman; two sons, Joshua (Leah) Silberman of Cherry Hill, NJ, Matthew (Megan) Silberman of Havertown, PA; four grandchildren, Noa, March, Mila and Miles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 12 P.M. at the Chisuk Emuna Cemetery Chapel with Rabbi Ariana Capptauber and Rabbi Ron Muroff co-officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Memorial Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 862
Carnegie, PA 15106 or American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112.

Henry was a great classmate. It was always a delight to talk to him at our class reunions. I didn´t attend all of them but when I did, and he was there, it was good to talk to him.
