Rodney Miller Obituary
Chesapeake - Rodney Edward Miller, 69, slipped peacefully into heaven with his wife by his side after a brief Illness, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. A lifelong resident of Chesapeake, he was the son of Francis and Edna Miller. A graduate of Great Bridge High School and member of Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, he was retired and enjoyed working to help others and loved being outside. He was a member in good standing of the Pocaty Hunt Club.
Rodney will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy and his children, Wendy Miller (Kevin), and Eric (Diana). He will also be missed and remembered by his grandchildren, Heather, Carrie Kennon (Brad), Brian, Justin and Danica; by his mother, Edna and by his sisters, Nancy Deal (Morris), Nina Troyer (Merv), Evelyn Miles, Joan Steininger (Phil) and Velma Morgan. He will be greatly missed by all his other relatives, including many nieces and nephews who adored him, and his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron, his father, Francis, and his sister, Thelma White.
A memorial service to celebrate Rodney's life will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., also at the church.

Our sympathies to family and friends in the loss of Rodney, my first cousin. Rodney attended my parents funerals, at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, this meant so very much. Rest in peace Rodney, and God bless the family! Sharon (Teague) and David Vincent family.
