My fond memories of Stephen is his kindness and smile and his politeness. I went to Ernie Pyle and Tolleston Junior High School with him. Our family has always been close to the McMath family. Many days I would pass their home on the corner of Ellsworth and 19th Avenue and Stephen would always give a wave and a smile and have something positive to say. May God continue to bless his family and all the lives Stephen touched.

My prayers go out to Stephen's loved ones. I know Stephen from our days at Ernie Pyle all the way through college at Purdue Calumet. I'll never forget his enthusiasm as he tried to convince me to pledge Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity with him. Steve was a stand up guy and will sorely be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Stephen. I was a neighbor on Ellsworth St. for more than 20 years until Jan. 2000. Whenever I saw him he always had a kind word. The last time I saw him, I was driving down Ellsworth St. and we talked. May God bless and comfort your during this time in your life.
