David L. Berge

Hyde Park - David L. Berge of Hyde Park, NY, died in his home on January 9, 2021, from complications related to Multiple Sclerosis. He was 63 years old.

David was born on June 20, 1957, to Burton and Virginia "Ginnie" Berge. He grew up in the Poughkeepsie area, graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1975, and from SUNY Delhi where he majored in Architectural Drafting and Construction Technologies. He worked as an architectural draftsman for several years before going into business for himself as owner of Triad Building Consultants of Hyde Park and Catskill Kitchen & Bath. He was a hard worker, an avid sports fan, loved fishing, the out-of-doors, and had a deep and active faith. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as a musician for the Contemporary Worship, and a long-time member of Faith Assembly of God where he sang in the Men's Chorus and had been an advisor to the Royal Rangers Youth Activity Group. He fought a courageous 15-year battle against the debilitating effects of Multiple Sclerosis.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Berge. He is survived by his children, Michael (Janelle), Matthew (Jamie), Jessica, Stephen, and Anna; 3 grandchildren, Mason, Carter, and Liam; his father, Burton Berge; brothers, Philip (Susan), and Paul (Gail); a sister, Laurie (Scott) Hagen; his former wife, Paula; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Faith Assembly of God, 25 Golf Club Lane, Poughkeepsie, NY. Visitation at 2 pm with the service at 2:30 pm. A private burial will take place later at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge, NY.
