It seems like a lifetime ago when I saw Steve last. It was during the summer of "03" and I was in town for a HS reunion. He, Brian and I made the trip to Huntington for the day. We were a little thinner on top and a little thicker thru the middle, but it was a great day. We were back in our element, in the surf and throwing the football on the sand. Hangin' with Steve was always a good time for me. He was fiercly competitive and was ready to defend himself at the drop of a hat. He had a blast dancing, waterskiing at the River or just being wherever. He was headstrong and confident and very outgoing. Those are the things I want to remember. We all went thru trials and changes in our lives. If there was one constant with Steve, it was that I always knew I could count on him no matter how long it had been. I could call him and he would have been there. The last conversation I had with Steve was regarding our great friend, his brother-in-law and my best man, Pat passing away. We talked about pain and mortality and how final things become with a phone call. We had a chance to relive earlier times in our life. We said we needed to get together and stay in touch. Life got in the way and now I have had another phone call. Take the opportunity to contact someone you haven't spoken to in a while or heal bad feelings between you and someone else.
Now that I think about it, I was wrong. It wasn't a lifetime ago, it was just yesterday. Diana and I will miss you Steve and pray for comfort and healing for all that knew you. Because I know it hurts.

I'm very sad to hear about Steve. Many years ago we were good friends for many years. I will always remember the great times we had and challenges that we gave each other. He was quite an exceptional athlete and friend. Losing Steve is a great loss.
