Mike was a good friend to me over the years. I found out of his passing today and have struggled but could imagine his family is hurting a lot right now. Mike had a calm presence and was there for other people. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mike worked for me at VDOT for almost 10 years. He never had a negative thing to say and was always smiling no matter how crazy things became at work. He was an inspiration to not only our team but to others he helped along the way. He never backed down from a challenge and was respected by all he came in contact with. My condolences to you all during this difficult time and may God provide you all with peace and comfort. Mike, "my friend", rest easy and fly high eagle until we meet again.

Mike will always hold a special place in my heart. We worked together for years and was my counterpart for the night crew at VDOT. He brought a different kind of energy. He went out of way to talk to you and made you feel welcomed. As a new person coming in, he was one of my mentors and he taught me alot about life. He had a positivity about life that was striking. Mike was very patient and detailed, which I appreciated. The line of work that we do can be very mentally draining and Mike always had a good word to say. We butted heads during football season....LOL. I remember I couldnt wait to get to work to poke fun at the Eagles or if the Cowboys had a good day, Mike would give it right back. Mike will truly be missed. Every time, I see the Eagles, I will think of my friend...which I affectionately called him "Da Dude".
